Victorinox Watch Service & Repairs in Sri Lanka

Swiss Watch Company is Sri Lanka’s sole authorised Victorinox retailer and your local point of contact for all Victorinox watch service and repair needs. Whether your watch needs a routine battery replacement, a water resistance test, or a full movement overhaul, Swiss Watch Company is the only place in Sri Lanka where you can have your Victorinox timepiece serviced with a direct connection to the official Victorinox AG service network.

This matters because servicing a Victorinox watch — particularly one that is still under the manufacturer’s 5-Year Warranty+ — at an unauthorised workshop or general watch repair shop will invalidate your warranty. Victorinox’s warranty terms are explicit on this point: battery replacements, case openings, and any internal service must be carried out at an authorised service centre to preserve warranty coverage. Swiss Watch Company, as the authorised dealer, ensures your warranty remains intact throughout the service process.

Types of Victorinox Watch Service Available

Maintenance Service — Recommended Every 18 to 24 Months

Maintenance service covers battery replacement for quartz models, a water resistance test, crown and pusher inspection, and a general external clean. Victorinox is specific about battery replacement — even this routine task should be carried out at an authorised service point, because the case must be opened correctly, the gaskets must be inspected, and a water resistance test must be performed afterwards to confirm the seal is intact. Having this done at a general watch shop or jeweller risks both the water resistance rating and your warranty validity.

Complete Overhaul — Recommended Every Six Years

A complete overhaul involves full disassembly and cleaning of the movement, replacement of all internal gaskets, lubrication of all moving parts, regulation and timing testing, a full water resistance test, and polishing and refinishing of the case and bracelet where requested. This is the full factory-equivalent service that returns a watch to the same standard it left Switzerland in. The six-year interval is a general recommendation — your usage pattern and Sri Lanka’s climate may make an earlier overhaul advisable.

What Swiss Watch Company Can Assist With Directly

Battery Replacement

Swiss Watch Company provides battery replacement for all quartz Victorinox models, including the Fieldforce, Maverick, Alliance, Journey 1884 quartz, I.N.O.X. Chronograph, and Dive Pro quartz. All battery replacements are followed by a water resistance test as required by Victorinox’s service standards. This is not optional — it is how Victorinox requires the process to be completed to maintain the watch’s stated water resistance rating.

Water Resistance Testing

Water resistance testing is available as a standalone service. If your watch has taken a knock, been dropped, or is approaching the 18-month mark since its last test, a water resistance test is strongly recommended before any diving, swimming, or significant water exposure. The water resistance rating on your watch’s caseback is not a permanent guarantee — gaskets degrade over time, and a crown impact or minor drop can compromise the seal with no visible external damage.

Strap and Bracelet Servicing

Swiss Watch Company provides strap replacement, bracelet adjustment, and link removal or addition for Victorinox watches. We stock Victorinox-compatible strap options and can advise on the most appropriate replacement for your specific model and use case.

Warranty Claim Processing

Swiss Watch Company handles the full liaison between you and the Victorinox AG service network for warranty claims. You bring the watch and your proof of purchase to our showroom — we manage the process from there. You will not need to correspond with overseas service centres or arrange international shipping on your own.

Pre-Service Assessment

If your watch has a specific fault and you are unsure whether it falls under warranty or whether repair is economically worthwhile, bring it in. Swiss Watch Company will assess it and advise honestly on the best course of action before any cost is committed.

Sending Your Watch to the Victorinox Service Network

For repairs requiring factory-level intervention — movement overhauls, case part replacements, or significant damage repair — Swiss Watch Company will arrange for your watch to be sent to the Victorinox AG authorised service network on your behalf.

You bring your watch to Swiss Watch Company along with your warranty card or proof of purchase and a description of the issue. Swiss Watch Company documents the watch, completes the required service paperwork, and arranges dispatch to the appropriate Victorinox service centre. For warranty-covered repairs, all costs including return shipping from the service centre are covered by Victorinox AG. For out-of-warranty repairs, the service centre will provide a written estimate before any work begins, and Swiss Watch Company will relay this to you for your approval.

Typical turnaround time for repairs sent to the Victorinox service network is three to six weeks, depending on the nature of the work and current service centre volumes. Swiss Watch Company will keep you updated throughout and notify you as soon as your watch is returned and ready for collection or delivery.

Out-of-Warranty Repairs

If your Victorinox watch has passed the five-year warranty period, servicing is still available. The Victorinox AG service network continues to service older models, and genuine Victorinox parts are available for most current and recent production models. For out-of-warranty service, the service centre provides a written estimate — including parts, labour, and return shipping — before any work proceeds. You have the right to decline and have the watch returned unserviced if the estimate does not meet your expectations.

Swiss Watch Company strongly recommends against using third-party or non-authorised repair shops for Victorinox watches, particularly models with sapphire crystals, screw-down crowns, or chronograph movements. Non-genuine replacement parts affect performance, water resistance rating, and resale value, and any subsequent warranty claim — even where warranty time remains — may be refused by Victorinox AG.

Watch Care Between Services

Because of Sri Lanka’s combination of heat, humidity, and coastal salt air, gasket degradation tends to occur faster than in temperate climates. This makes the 18-month water resistance test interval particularly important for watches used in Sri Lanka. If you swim regularly in the sea with your Victorinox watch, rinse the watch in fresh water after each exposure and dry thoroughly. Salt water is corrosive to gaskets and bracelet links over time.

For quartz models, battery life is approximately 24 months from the time of last service. On selected Victorinox models, an end-of-life indicator signals a low battery — the second hand stops for four seconds, then jumps forward to the correct time rather than sweeping continuously. This means the battery needs replacing within the next few weeks. A fully depleted battery left inside the movement can leak and cause significant internal damage.

Never operate the crown or any chronograph pushers while the watch is submerged, even on models rated for deep water resistance. Water resistance ratings are tested with all controls in their default closed positions. Operating a crown or pusher underwater introduces a direct path for water ingress regardless of the stated depth rating.

For leather strap models — including certain Alliance variants — avoid sustained contact with water. For regular or prolonged water exposure, the stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap variants of the same model are the more practical choice.

Frequently Asked Questions — Victorinox Watch Service in Sri Lanka

Will getting my Victorinox battery replaced at a local jeweller void my warranty?

Yes. Victorinox’s warranty terms require that battery replacements — and any other service involving opening the case — be carried out at an authorised service point. A battery replacement at a non-authorised shop will invalidate the 5-Year Warranty+, and the watch’s water resistance rating cannot be guaranteed after a case opening that is not followed by a proper pressure test.

How do I know if my Victorinox watch needs servicing?

The clearest indicators are: the second hand jumping in four-second intervals rather than sweeping (low battery signal on quartz models), the watch running noticeably fast or slow, condensation visible inside the crystal, or any damage to the crown, pushers, or case that may have compromised the water resistance seal. If any of these apply, bring the watch to Swiss Watch Company for assessment.

Can Swiss Watch Company service a Victorinox watch I bought overseas?

Yes. The Victorinox 5-Year Warranty+ is an international warranty. If you purchased your watch from an authorised Victorinox dealer overseas and have your stamped warranty card and proof of purchase, Swiss Watch Company can process your warranty service claim through the Victorinox service network in Sri Lanka on your behalf.

How long does Victorinox watch service take in Sri Lanka?

Routine battery replacement and water resistance testing can typically be completed on the same visit or within a short turnaround at our showroom. Repairs that need to be sent to the Victorinox service centre typically take three to six weeks. Swiss Watch Company will give you a specific estimate at the time of assessment and keep you updated throughout.

Is it worth servicing an older Victorinox watch that is out of warranty?

In most cases, yes. Victorinox watches are built to last well beyond the warranty period, and genuine parts remain available for most models. A complete overhaul from the Victorinox service network will restore the watch’s performance, water resistance, and condition significantly. Swiss Watch Company will provide an honest assessment of whether the cost of service is justified for your specific model before any work proceeds.
